Glóin's wife is a minor character, only seen in a photograph in The Desolation of Smaug.

Glóin brings a locket that contains a portrait of his wife and their son, Gimli.

The Desolation of SmaugEdit

Glóin's locket is taken by Legolas Greenleaf when he and his company are captured by the Mirkwood Elves. When the elf prince opens the portrait, Legolas mistakes Glóin's wife for his brother and Glóin corrects Legolas that the woman in the picture is his wife, before the prince insults the next picture; his future friend, Gimli.
